Autumn Leaf Dishcloth



 Today is the first day of autumn so why not add a new dishcloth in your kitchen?! I test knit this pattern in Lily Sugar n Cream yarn in Wine...I think its a great shade to welcome the season of bold & beautiful colors!

Anyway, here's the pattern.  Happy first day of fall!



Autumn Leaf Dishcloth


Supplies:

1 Skein Lily Sugar n Cream yarn

US #3/3.25mm needles

Yarn needle




(Finished size approximately 9-1/2" x 8")



Instructions:



Cast on 49 sts



Rows 1-6: (K1, P1) to last stitch, K1



Row 7 (and all odd rows): (K1, P1) x2, P to last 4 sts, (P1, K1) x2

Row 8: (K1, P1) x2, K41, (P1, K1) x2

Bind off in (K1, P1) pattern.



Weave in ends and block, pushing down on stockingnette stitches and leaving the purl stitches (so they "pop"). Lay flat to dry.

  1. to have a seed stitch border after the first 6 rows each row needs to end {p1k1}x2. Otherwise I really like the pattern

  14. On the autumn design, I don't mean this as critical. I just want to do it right. It looks like the last letter in Autumn is an "H" not an "N". If so, could you change that to make it an "N" with different directions????

      but i also woud like to make this leaf dishcloth but i agree it looks like and h and not an n if you know how to corredct it would you respond as noticed kelly hasnt responded to anyone on the dolphin or this leaf etc would like to order pattterns form her also please let me know if you know where the correction is or if you hae heard form kelly love her designs

  15. I have just completed knitting this dishcloth. Could you help me - how do you make the letters stand out - do you press the stitches around the letters with something. I tried that but the stitches seem to pop up again. Thank you
